NotANotADumble Boost & Overdrive

This is definitely not a Dumble… this is definitely not what a famous company that didn’t make a Dumble either should have made.  The NotANotADumble is a multi-effect pedal that has three separate effects to make the crystal lattice harmonics of your amp jump out at you!

It starts with the Boost section.  This JFET based clean boost gives you the famous Dumble JFET preamp at your fingertips.  The Boost control is the master volume of the circuit.  The Input control works as both a sort of gain and bass/tone control.  Wide open, this gives you a full and loud sound, but rolling it back makes your sound thinner and cleaner.  This boost works great to push the front end of the drive section, or as a solo boost at the end of the chain (which we will get to later).  The Drive section is dynamic, touch-sensitive overdrive to give you creamy lead tones.  Its not a high-gain overdrive, but it gives you just enough of those edge-of-breakup tones that will push your amp right into that sweet spot.  The EQ and Presence controls allow you to shape your overall tone, but also keep your sound from getting too bass-y or flubby.  The Loop section is something that is a bit of a swiss-army knife in that it can do a few separate things.  At its heart, its an insert loop for the pedal.  You can add any pedal from your arsenal to this chain.  But a secret of the Loop section is when there is no pedal in the loop; it acts as another great boost to thicken your sound.

The real magic of the NotANotADumble is the versatility of the switches.  The Loop and Boost switches give you a total of 6 different tonal options.  The Loop Switch sets the order of the Loop and Drive section.  The Boost switch selects if you want the Boost to be before anything else in the signal chain, to thicken and push everything else, or to have it at the end as a Master boost for your rig.

The NotANotADumble won’t make you think you have a $50k Dumble in your house, but it will get you closer to getting those dreamy sounds we all dream of!
