Don’t get caught in the Updraft! The Schu-Tone Updraft Phaser is more than just a simple phaser, more than a vibrato pedal, more than a tremolo. Imagine all three combined in one. Designed to give you shades of a rotary speaker, the Schu-Tone Updraft is something you don’t hear everyday. Start with the controls; the Speed control is for the speed of the phasing. From super slow to machine gun fast, there is quite a range of sounds. The Regen control adds in feedback, giving you different flavors to the phased sound. The Intensity control is like a mix for the phased tone. At lower levels, the phased tone is still there, just really subtle. As you raise it to 3 o’clock and above, more intense phasing is heard. What makes this pedal really unique is the Drop control. The Drop control acts as a tremolo depth. As you adjust it higher and higher, the more your signal swims in and out, creating a doppler-like effect.
